It has been almost a year since I started the COLT program and I thought I should get in touch with you to say thank you again. I am working this summer kayak guiding with Ecosummer Expeditions in the Johnstone Strait and I am having the time of my life! I owe it all to you and all the amazing people involved in the COLT program. It is a dream come true and wouldn’t have been possible without you! Thank you for helping me to get started on a life of guiding and adventure and I will be sure to bring everything you taught me to where ever I may end up.
Please pass on my thanks to the other instructors as well if you get the chance.
I hope to see you again soon!

All the best!
Jordan – Spring 2014

Hey Jim and Laurel,
Just wanted to send you guys a quick message and give you a little bit of an update and thank you guys for everything you taught me in COLT. This past summer I have been working as the lead whitewater kayak instructor at boatwerks in Minden and found out that Im going to be featured in a book about paddling, and I am working at the school board as a supply EA and outdoor educator and I just took a 2 month contract job with flemming college as a Outdoor rec technician. Anyways I just wanted to thank both of you and the other instructors.
Geoff Radburn – COLT Fall 2013

Colt gave me the skills to take my outdoor recreation to new heights. Colt opened up my world to many different lines of work that I have never dreamed possible. The colt experience is like non other highly advise taking this life changing adventure.

Alex Mostertman – Fall 2013

Colt’s value lies in the community and spirit of Strathcona Park Lodge. As a Coltie, you become part of a family where mentorship, stewardship and leadership help you develop into the outdoor educator you hope to be. You will learn the meaning of “full value” and I would not encourage anything less but believe me, the Colt program really is a marathon. The Colt program wouldn’t be what it is without the instructors; foremost they are teachers and yet will become friends and perhaps colleagues one day. I recommend Colt to any aspiring outdoor educator/guide who wants to get into the outdoor recreation industry.
