Last week we said goodbye to the last of our school groups, and hello to the start of our next season. With that, we’d like to give a shout out to the teachers, students, and parents who joined us from around the province to make our programs such a success.
Our Lodge has run outdoor programs since 1959, and each season our motivated team of staff bring fresh energy, as do the many excited youth. With students of all ages visiting our property, we see the ability outdoor education has to facilitate individual learning, and unite groups. Whether it’s watching students screaming with glee as they fly off the kayak slide, conquering their fear of heights on the high ropes, or reenacting their favourite moments around a campfire, we love to see students learning, having fun, and creating bonds year after year.
Thank you to the schools who return annually, and who have made our programs such an integral component of their curriculum. There are groups who claim that their visit to the Lodge is the “highlight of the school year”, and has been “instrumental in the development of personal identity and a strong appreciation for nature and outdoor activities.” We are grateful that we are able to facilitate such positive experiences. While we would love to take all the credit, it’s hard to deny the incredible spirit that each group brings. We are fortunate to be situated in such a beautiful part of the world, with a natural playground at our doorstep.
As we move into the summer season, we look forward to providing more opportunities for individual guests, families, friends, and smaller groups such as our Road Scholar and WYLD programs. Starting July 8th, we will once more be offering our Daily Adventures, and our new Summer Special.
School’s out for summer! Let’s keep the adventures rolling.
