The Lodge
Connect, respect, ripple effect
Nestled on the shores of Upper Campbell Lake, our off-grid wilderness retreat and multi-sport haven boast 160-acres of secluded waterfront, hiking trails and activity-based infrastructure. Our eclectic accommodation, stunning location and expertise in outdoor education keeps people coming back year after year.
Strathcona Park Lodge would like to recognize and show respect to the First Nations of the Nuu-chah-nulth, Kwakwaka’wakw, and the Coast Salish traditions on whose traditional and unceded territories we reside on. We want to express our gratitude to the Liǧʷiłdax̌ʷ, Kwakwaka’wakw A̱wi’nagwis, K’ómoks, We Wai Kum, We Wai Kai, and nuučaan̓uuɫɁatḥ nism̓a and are striving for traveling and living on their lands with respect.
Base Camp
Located just outside of Strathcona Provincial Park, we often act as a base camp and resource for adventurers. Our backyard is full of possibilities, whether it’s a day trip or multi-day expedition you’re looking for. Hiking, mountaineering, paddling (rivers, lakes or ocean), forest bathing and waterfall viewing are all at our doorstep. Talk to us about guided adventures and developing your outdoor skills with our talented instructors.
Off The Grid
We are a self-contained community operating entirely off-grid, and have been recognized internationally for our environmental initiatives. At the heart of our value system is the idea of doing more with less, and this applies to all levels of our operation. Our goal is to keep outdoor tourism sustainable for the generations to come.
Food and Dining Philosophy
We work with local farms and fisheries to source the best ingredients possible. Our menus change every day to reflect what’s local and in season and our talented chefs are always creating new and delicious offerings. We offer good food — for you and the planet — usually at set times, with options for take out picnics.
Things To Do
Rent a boat or stand up paddleboard to explore beautiful Upper Campbell Lake. Hire a guide to lead you through a session on the high ropes course, take you outdoor rock climbing, or for some guiding hiking in Strathcona Provincial Park. Enjoy a bonfire, a favourite drink, and some stargazing outside your cottage with your nearest and dearest. There are endless ways to tailor your experience and enjoy your time with us.
Backpacking in Strathcona Park would not be the same without also spending at least a few days at the Strathcona Park Lodge. The incredible food, invigorating lake, spectacular sunsets, night skies and knowledgeable and friendly staff - especially when playing a game of kayak soccer - add to the wonderful surroundings. Our kids have had incredible adventures at their summer camp, and we have shared many wonderful family moments exploring and learning. Strathcona Park Lodge is a special place and we look forward to visiting every year.
